Dr. V. N. Bedekar Institute of Management Studies (DR VN BRIMS) is ISO 9001:2000 certified institute since 30th June, 2008 and has an established quality management system in place. Furthermore, the Institute has successfully updated to ISO 9001:2008 which remains valid up to 20th September 2014, subject to yearly satisfactory surveillance audits.

Dr. Guruprasad Murthy, the founding Director of DR VN BRIMS initiated the quality management process through a workshop held on Saturday, 27th August, 2005. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Vijay V. Bedekar, Chairman, VPM (Thane) Group of Institutions who shared his vision and facilitated the enumeration of the objectives. The key feature of this workshop was to spread the quality message and subsequently the quality policy was put into action. The statement of Quality Policy: "Getting it right the first time, every time, on time," was deployed as a thought into everyone's mind and also put quality processes and management into practice through day-to-day actions viz. interaction between the members of the faculty inter-se, interactions between members of the staff, interactions between the director, members of the faculty (full-time and visiting), office staff and the students. An indigenously developed Quality Manual was also formally released on 17th May 2006 at the hands of Shri. N. R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman and Chief Mentor, Infosys.

Vidya Prasarak Mandal (VPM) Thane wanted to firmly establish the quality movement at DR VN BRIMS and accordingly appointed a quality management professionals on 12th September 2007, in order to achieve the ISO accreditation. In its quality journey, DR VN BRIMS has developed four volumes (September 2007 to June 2008) that effectively document the processes and bear an eloquent testimony to the continuous musings on quality at the institute. The statement of Quality Policy is well defined and clearly documented in the quality manual and also it is displayed at prominent locations in the institute. The quality policy of DR VN BRIMS is articulated across all stakeholders through a poem, which is presented alongside. The management ensures that the quality objectives are set and reviewed. The implementation of the Quality Policy and objectives is evident from the exhaustive planning of all academic activities, deep involvement of faculty and staff in the execution of planned activities and regular feedbacks received from the stakeholders. Every member of DR VN BRIMS is committed to excellence, innovativeness and creativity and is guided by quality in every activity. The faculty members are conscious of teaching, research and administration quality and aim to continuously improve all round productivity.
