Report on BRIMS Connect April, 2020

On 8th May, 2020 DR VN BRIMS had organized an Online Brims Connect Session for the month of April'2020. This was the second Online Brims Connect session which was conducted using a digital platform due to COVID-19 situation. BRIMS Connect is an event to showcase the achievements of our faculty members and students. This event plays an important role as it acts as a platform to recognize and motivate the participants which further encourages students to actively participate.

The event was commenced by the Director, Dr. Nitin Joshi who shared his online videos on “Psychology of Motivation”. Followed by three of our MMS Students who shared their solutions on the question raised by Dr Nitin Joshi in the previous Brims Connect Session held in March 2020. Further, Dr Smita Jape addressed the audience present in the session by sharing the initiatives taken by her during the period of Covid-19.

Dr. Meenakshi Malhotra received appreciation for being selected as a reviewer for a SCOPUS indexed Journals.

Pleased to share that five students from BRIMS got successfully placed at SBI Capital. The process was successfully conducted by Prof. Mahesh Bhanushali.

Dr. Smita Jape and Dr. Meenakshi Malhotra got appreciation for being selected as a reviewer for a Scopus Index Journal named “Journal of Critical Review”.

Prof Pravin Narag successfully conducted telephonic interview for ‘Syntel’ Company and 22 students have given their interview.

Prof Kurnal K. Punjani got appreciation for creating a video on “Design Thinking- An Overview” where he explained what design thinking is and why it is important.

Mrs. Shweta Nair got appreciated for placing 50 students for virtual Internship programs wherein students received work from home assignments.

Dr. Arloph and Prof. Kanchan Akshay organized a Five Day Online ‘Soft Skills Training Programme’ for VPM Staff Members. And Prof. Sandeep Moghe provided the IT support required for programme for which he was appreciated.

Prof. Mahesh Bhanushali got admired for successfully placing four Ist year students for virtual internship project at EhnoteSoftlabs.

Dr. Smita Jape and Dr. Pallavi Chandwaskar took efforts to create an awareness on COVID-19 by conducting a quiz “DR VN BRIMS IQAC Initiative” based on daily newspaper readings. This quiz was conducted for MMS and for PGDM students. The results of this quiz were declared by Dr. Pallavi Chandwaskar. The winners shared their experience regarding this quiz and showed interest for continuing such quiz in future as well.

Prof. Sandeep Moghe conducted a training session on Video Making for faculty members. Mr Ajay and Mr. Rushabh conducted the session, where they shared their knowledge and experience in video making. Their efforts were much acknowledged.

On 27th of April the IIC team of BRIMS, whose members are, Prof. Krunal Punjani, Dr. Smita Jape, Dr. Meenakshi Malhotra, Prof. Mahesh Bhanushali, Prof Vibhuti Save and Prof Sandeep Moghe, designed and initiated “InnoBiz”. Competition was for MMS and PGDM students and their respective members. Prof. Krunal Punjani discussed the guidelines regarding the competition and also conveyed the evaluation criteria.

Prof. Mahesh Bhanushali also got admired for placing Ms Shramika Ghagare, first year HR student at E4 development and coaching Mumbai for virtual internship and 7 first year students IIFL for virtual internship projects.

The faculty members addressed the audience starting with Prof. Kanchan Akshay sharing update on the upcoming personality Development course and encouraged students to be a part of the same. Followed by Dr. Meenakshi Malhotra who gave information about the upcoming FDP Programme. And then Prof. Dipti Periwal addressed everyone and shared the importance and various other aspects of Family Managed Business. She also presented a video on the same to make everyone aware about it. Prof. Sandeep Moghe also shared update on the support provided by BRIMS IT Team during this lockdown period.

Faculty members of BRIMS had really done a commendable work during the lockdown by creating innovative videos, knowledgeable articles, and few poems and sketches. A glimpse of this was presented.

The event was very well anchored by MMS First Year student Miss Poorva Ajgaonkar and second year MMS Student Miss Nejal Vora. The video presentation was prepared by MMS Student Suyash Patil. And the event was well organized under the guidance of Dr. Meenakshi Malhotra with members of Student Engagement committee Miss Sayali Palav, Miss. Revti and Miss Poorva Ajgaonkar. Overall, the 2nd Online Brims Connect Session was another successful event and a great example of how our organization has come together during these circumstances showcasing the collective efforts of our Institute.
