Report on BRIMS CONNECT July 2020


DR.VN BRIMS had organized an online BRIMS Connect for the month of August 2020 on 14th August 2020. The BRIMS Connect is an initiative which was started with a motive of connecting the students and the faculty and to inform all the activities and events which occurred in the previous month. This was the 6th Digital BRIMS Connect session and was held on Webex platform. BRIMS Connect is a platform where all the achievements of our faculty members and students are showcased. This event plays an important role as it acts as a platform which recognize, motivate and encourages each student to participate actively not only in the activities within the institute but also to represent the institute in Inter-college level competitions. The winners of various competition were felicitated and shared their experience to motivate other students.

The event commenced with the faculty achievements.

On 1st July Research paper written by Prof. Mahesh Bhanushali got accepted for publication in Scopus indexed Journal “Journal of computational and theoretical Nanoscience”, American Scientific publishers, having H index 43. Dr. Nitin Joshi and Dr. Arloph Johnvieira attended a 5 days workshop from 2nd to 6th July on Universal Human Values conducted by AICTE -Western Region. On 3rd July Prof. Mahesh Bhanushali successfully placed 2 candidates for internship opportunity in 'Dainik Bhaskar' for Data Analytics and operations profile. Dr. Arloph Johnvieira released Brims Connect e-Magazine June issue of 52 pages on 3rd July and circulated to all students and faculty members.

On 4th July A webinar on Goal setting was organized at DR VN BRIMS. Dr. Nitin Joshi was the speaker of the webinar and the session was moderated by Prof. Kanchan Akshay.

Dr. Smita Jape successfully conducted online MDP training programme on 5th July for employees of Sparsh Fabric on “Understanding Financial Statements and decision making”. Total 30 Participants participated including 3 Directors and members from different verticals such as from Marketing, Accounts, Plant Head and Billing department. The training programme was appreciated by all participants including Mr Vikas Todi , Director of Sprash Fabric.

On 6th July Prof. Mahesh Bhanushali successfully placed Mr. Ajay Jaiswal from PGDM Finance in eclerx. In the period of 7th to 18th July Prof. Vibhuti Save completed IMC RBNQA Trust - CEQM Refresher Course. After completion of refresher course, she has received one assessment opportunity from RBNQA.

On 14th July Prof. Mahesh Bhanushali successfully placed five candidates in a well known e-commerce giant ‘Flipkart’ with the package of 3.5 Lakhs for the core operations and supply chain profile.

On 14th July Dr. Smita Jape received certificate for completion of Advanced Excel course of Udemy.

On 16th July, Prof. Mahesh Bhanushali has successfully completed 8 days FDP course on innovation and entrepreneurship from IIT Kharagpur. He also qualified the examination with 70%. His Idea on mobile application for ‘Instant Order Booking for Channel Partners in FMCG’ has also received appreciation from IIT.

From 17th to 24th July Dr. Smita Jape along with IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) members organized online Talks Series of Industry experts for our students on the theme “Campus to Corporate - A career path ahead”.

Dr. Nitin Joshi delivered a Career management counselling session on 20th July which was organized by Rotary and Craft your Career.

On 20th July Dr. Smita Jape was appointed as reviewer for two years by International Journal of Finance and Accounting which is ABDC listed Journal. On 21st July International Journal invited Dr. Smita Jape to be reviewer for the International Journal of Finance and Banking which is ABDC listed journal.

On 30th July Prof. Krunal K. Punjani attended 4 days FDP on "Demystifying Literature Review Techniques" by Dr. Sreejesh S. Pillai from Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode and Dr. RPS Kaurav from Prestige Institute of Management, Gwalior. Prof. Mahesh Bhanushali declared winners of Innobiz July 2020 problem statement. The winners then presented their solution notes to all the members.

Next part of the event commenced with student’s achievements.

During the period of lockdown, many students have completed online certification courses from various applications and online portals of big firms. Students are using various social media platforms for showcasing their skills. MMS student Miss. Samruddhi Shinde and PGDM student Miss. Mudra Bandri shared their learning experience of online courses.

As we all know the global pandemic has hit many countries across the world, including our country and have brought many difficulties and challenges in our life. In this uncertain environment, Digital platforms have paved a way for continuous learning and conducting BRIMS connect virtually. So, Covid-19 crisis could not be a barrier towards learning and development in new ways.

The event ended with the thank you note to all the stakeholders of the institute on a positive note.
