On 9thOctober 2020,DR VN BRIMS organized its 8th online BRIMS Connect session for the month of September 2020. The Institute adopted a new way to conduct this event on every second Friday of the month. This event comprises of appreciating faculty members and students for the achievements they achieved during that month. This acts as a motivational factor for students for continuously keep on learning and improving their own skills.
The event started with a motivational quote which talked about how you can change your lifestyle according to the changing circumstances to achieve your goals. Later, various events which occurred during the month of September were showcased. On 3rd September, Prof. Krunal K. Punjani was invited as a resource person for “National Level Webinar on- Mendeley Reference Management Tool”. On 6th September, Dr. Nitin Joshi completed a course on self- development.
Moving forward, on 10th September, University of Mumbai nominated DR VN BRIMS as a Lead College and as a lead college DR VN BRIMS is Coordinating with University of Mumbai on guiding/resolving queries of nine Cluster Members with respect to Final year online examination. Dr. Nitin Joshi had a meeting with colleges in the cluster for online conduct of exams. Also, Dr. Smita Jape and Prof. Vibhuti Save attended 4 meetings conducted by Dr. Suhas Pednekar, Vice Chancellor of University of Mumbai and Dr. Vinod Patil, Director, Boardof Examination and Evaluation.
On 12th September, Dr. Nitin Joshi took a session for TMF (Thane Management Forum) on topic “Advances in Marketing”. Also, on 19th September 2020, Dr. Pallavi Chandwaskar from IQAC of DR VN BRIMS organized webinar on theme "Prioritization of personal goals in the times of COVID" which was addressed by Dr. Nitin Joshi and Prof. Ajitabh Dutta.
Dr. Smita Jape, Dr. Meenakshi Malhotra and Prof. Krunal K.Punjani ideated, designed, marketed, successfully organized and delivered session for the online 5 Days FDP on “A Step Ahead towards Publishing your Research Paper in SCOPUS Indexed Journal by Power of SPSS & AMOS” between 26th to 30th September 2020. Prof. Sandeep Moghe ensured IT support for the FDP.
Going forward, from 16th to 25th September, four webinars were arranged by Dr. Arloph Johnvieira, Dr Smita Jape, Prof Deepti Periwal and Prof Mahesh Bhanushali regarding why to choose MBA/MMS in which the faculty talked about how MBA helps us in acquiring new knowledge, good personality and a respectable job with good salary package. Huge participation was recorded in these webinars.
On 30th September, Dr. Nitin Joshi got nominated as an external subject expert for the Research Advisory Committee of the Faculty of Commerce, Management and Hospitality of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University to evaluate the research plans of the research scholars of the Faculty. Our college experienced a proud moment as the college is awarded as “Best Emerging Institute in Mumbai” by Praxis Media. Prof. Dipti Periwal released a video on “Happiest Minds IPO - Should you Invest”. From 14th to 18th September, Dr. Smita Jape attended 5 days International workshop on “Crossing Barriers in research” conducted by New Horizon College of Engineering Bengaluru.
Between 28th to 30th September, Prof. Krunal K Punjani attended 3 days online workshop on "Managing Literature for Scholarly Writing" organized by MAR Athanasius College, Kerala. Going forward, on 12th September, Finance faculty and finance students attended a webinar on Financial Modeling conducted by BSE. Also, various webinars attended by Dr. Arloph Johnviera were also exhibited on the event.
Moving ahead towards student’s achievements, various certifications received by the students were showcased which enhanced the level of spirit in the students to be productive and keep themselves updated.
Also, alumni of the college were also invited for the first time to attend the event. It was great to hear their positive feedback, experiences and suggestions.
The event was anchored by 2nd Year MMS Student Shivani Dhawale. The video was prepared by 2nd year MMS student Sujay Patil and 2nd year PGDM student Ajay Sarse.
The event was well organized by Dr Meenakshi Malhotra and Prof Sandeep Moghe. The IT Support team of BRIMS did an excellent job and made sure that the event was carried out without any technical hitches. The event concluded effortlessly with the collective energies of the Institute.
