Twisting, turning and holding the news paper may be difficult, if you are not use to reading on a daily basis. But the moment you find news which is of your interest, you are at your ease.
Everyone has a different purpose to read, but definitely you will try to scan the paper as much as you can.
At the present scenario we get to read all types of news that exists on the globe be it in , economics, politics bollywood, fashion, cooking, education, jobs, investments etc both national and international news.
My personal experience as a professor was that, the ratio of newspaper reading is lowest among the students. They are reluctant even to pick up the copy and glance through it. In fact 90 per cent of students do not like reading the newspaper, preferring to source news from commercial television or online media but Do you think they use the technology for required news. The excuses given by them are, Why to buy a newspaper if they get news free on the web. Do you think spending such a small amount is difficult?
NO that’s not the case. When it comes students they are just seen reading their books, may be because they have a test, exam or they are completely a Book bug to score best of marks for them. According to me, they are truly justified their performance is evaluated based on the rank they score. Therefore the student will prefer to study than reading the newspaper because they think final examination does not require them to reads newspaper.
When these students go out for interviews for higher education or to get a job, their sparkling marks do convince the appraiser. and they realize that the of practicality of life is missing in the books. Life is not of just having theoretical knowledge.
Students should read newspapers to broaden their knowledge and keep abreast of the recent developments in various fields. By reading, you are exposed to new words which improve your vocabulary. Just spend few minutes today and groom your tomorrow.
