Participants Profiles & Response:

  • Majority of the participants were of T.Y. BBI, BAF, BCOM & BMS.
  • Out of the total participants, 21 were females and 30 were males.
  • Participants were actively involved in each levels of the competition; appreciated our hospitality, infrastructure and overall efforts the organizing team.
  • This competition created social media buzz on BRIMS Facebook Page with, 9400+ ‘Reach’, 2200+ ‘Post Clicks’ and 2100+ ‘Reactions’ (Likes, Shares, Comments).

Objectives:

  • To encourage Innovation among the youth
  • To provide a platform for youth participants to present their innovative ideas.
  • To enable youth participants to experience to working in a team and handling different business functions at different competition levels.
  • To inculcate the event management and service orientation skills among the organizing volunteers.

Competition Details:


Level 1: Crack The Code (Treasure Hunt)

Participant teams were provided with a list of 25 Questions, based on the post-independence milestones of India related to economic & industrial growth. The teams were required to extract the answers from the ‘Milestone charts’ displayed in DR VN BRIMS’ “Knowledge Museum”. Points were given based on “No. of Correct answers” identified by the team and “Time taken” to identify these answers.


Level 2: Trade Bazaar (Mock Stock)

Participant teams were provided with a virtual capital amount of Rs. 1 Crore, which they need to invest in the virtual stock market based on the regular updates shared, with an aim to maximize returns from their investments. Points were given based on “Return on Investment” earned within specified time duration of 1 hour.


Level 3: Bizovation (New Product Development)

Participant teams were provided with different themes like ‘Women Safety’, ‘Support for Senior Citizens’, ‘Solutions for Physically challenged’, ‘Water Conservation’ and so on. Teams were required to think about a new and innovative product, based on the individual theme, give a brand name to it and make a poster of the same, mentioning product tag line. Points were given on the basis of “Newness of the Innovative Product” and “Poster Design, Brand Name & Tag line”, which was judged by an experienced Marketing Professor.


Level 4: Go Viral (Social Media Buzz)

Participant teams were required to take a selfie with the Poster made in the ‘level 3: Bizovation’ which was uploaded on the DR VN BRIMS facebook page. Each team was required to generate maximum engagements (Likes & Comments) on their individual posts within specified time duration. Points were based on No. of “Reach”, “Engagement (Likes & Comments)” and “Post Clicks” generated on team’s individual post.


Outcomes:

  • Participants were involved in the brainstorming process, which resulted in 17 innovative product/ solution ideas for the different themes provided.
  • To appreciate and encourage the efforts of the participants, top three teams, based on the total points were awarded with exciting prizes such as Amzon Gift Card worth Rs. 6000/-, MI Fitness Bands and JBL Headphones; additionally certificates were given to all the participating teams.
  • Hands-on experience of event management for the Organizing team of volunteers.
