A very beautiful universe is designed by god and gifted to us, to live a life which is filled with all the natural resources. We humans are the one who’re given the responsibility to look after the nature and mother earth.
As the world starts evolving, our lifestyle preferences also changed. In this evolving world we as humans expect everything available, cheaper to use & throw. We pack light whenever we leave for office or vacations. We carry plastic containers so we can just eat from that and throw it, resulting in plastic garbage. This is how plastic entered in our lives. Yes! We ourselves have opened the doors for plastic in our life.
Day by day, the use of plastic started growing as it was easily available. This Increase in demand also brought “SINGLE USE PLASTIC” in our life, the name itself delivers its meaning, one time use of plastic product which is thrown away after usage is over. Its widely used by all the people in this world without considering its disadvantages.
Single use plastic includes cheap polythene bags, ,bottles, bottle caps, spoons, straws, glasses, plates, wrappers, coffee containers by (Starbucks, ,McDonald’s), snack bags and cotton ear buds. All these things are used and thrown. These are utilised everyday by major population of the world that results in increasing plastic waste with no proper solution to recycle, resulting in harm to the mother nature and humans.
There are alternatives like steel straws can be carried in purse, water bottle with glass while leaving the house so we don’t buy plastic bottles, polythene bags can be replaced with paper/cloth bags that can be carried while leaving the house. Rather than using plastic food containers, a simple steel tiffin has long life and toxins free.
The usage of Single use plastic is increasing each passing day, it is a big threat to the world. It takes 1000years to recycle and in those years it damages soil if thrown in land, marine life if thrown in sea, and air pollution if burnt as it releases harmful gases and toxins which harms entire living population of earth. Plastic is a curse to nature.
The people who have big industries either manufacture Single use plastic products or use it in huge quantity would have to switch to high quality plastic or eco friendly options. That would cost a lot of money. So they still manufacture plastic products for their selfish motives to make profits.
Recycling plastic waste is very difficult and there’s no concrete solution for recycling it. The only option to get rid of this problem is to eliminate the single use plastic.
It’s our own mistake, we cannot blame government or shopkeepers. If we all refuse to take single use plastic things then they would eventually stop selling it and results in reduction of Single use plastics. Everyday is another chance to make a change. Let’s try and adapt good changes to make world better place to live which is free from plastic waste and it’s toxins.
Everything about our universe that was gifted us was very beautiful. We as humans altogether made it worse by carelessly using plastic and creating a mess. Therefore it’s our solo responsibility to clean this mess and make mother earth just like before. Remember universe is our home and “apna ghar saaf karne mein kaisi sharam?” So today is a new day, lets get it. Let’s promise ourselves to try and eliminate every unnecessary use of plastic and ask our friends and family to do the same. Remember “Rome was not built in a day” therefore it may take some time for mother earth to heal by the over usage of plastic waste but our efforts has to be consistent and positive. There are already many NGO’s and campaigns already working for such issues. We as responsible citizens need to start working on this soon. And we shall see a beautiful universe again that is filled with people who care for it and don’t take it for granted.
